A menu designer allows the user to create a menu or sub menu to access the created page. Menu and sub menu can be created using this option. This page lets you quickly create, and view details. In addition, this page lets you copy, delete, and edit details.
You can click Configure ? Menu Designer menu item. The "Menu Designer" page opens. This will list the Menu Id, Name, Select Parent Menu, Sequence, Links to Edit, Copy and Delete.
Creating New Menu
The user can create new menu details such as Name, Parent Menu, Pageset Type, Sequence, etc. You have to follow the steps given below to add new menu "Emp Master" under the Menu "Samples" using the pageset" Emp Master".
- Click Configure ? Menu Designer menu. The "Menu Designer" page displays. The below information is taking the Menu id "Emp Master" under the Menu "Samples".
- Click on Add New button to add a menu. The "Menu Designer - Add" page opens.
- Select the Is Active check box to make this menu item as active.
- Type the name of the menu in the Name text box. For example, type the name as "Emp Master".
- If this menu is the sub menu for any other menu, then select the name of the parent menu from Select Parent Menu drop-down. For example, select the parent menu as "Samples". You can add new, edit or view the menu details in the Menu Designer page by clicking the view icon.
- Select the Pageset for which the menu is created in the Select Pageset drop-down. For example, select the Pageset as "Emp Master". You can add new, edit or view the page details in the Page Designer page by clicking the view icon.
- Select the type of Pageset [Dynamic Page or Static Page or External URL] from the Pageset Type drop-down. For example, select the type as "Dynamic Page".
- Type the URL for the static and external pages in the URL text box.
- Type the path for the menu icon image in the Upload Image for Menu Icon text box.
- Type the number for the menu in the Sequence text box provided. For example, type thee sequence as "30".
- Select the way in which the page has to open from the OnClick Action drop-down. For example, select the option as "Show List View". Show List View to display the page in list mode on selecting the menu. Add New Record to display the page in detail mode on selecting the menu from the On Click Action drop-down.
- Owner of the record. Typically Owner will be any of the user id. E.g.sample_randy@cellarstone.com. By default, Owner will have access to this record.
- Click Save to save the newly created menu item.
Note:
- To update a menu item details, click Edit icon, and then change the fields you want to update.
- To copy the menu item details from an existing data, click Copy icon.
- To delete a menu item detail, click Delete icon provided on the list page.
- To view the particular menu item detail, click on the required Menu ID link.
