Lead

A lead is a prospect or potential opportunity. For example a person you met at a conference who expressed interest, or someone who filled out a form on your company's website. The lead page contains information about the lead details.  After entering the Lead's master details, you can set commission plan, enter the transaction details and manage customer details.

The lead menu lets you quickly create, and view the leads information. You can sort and filter leads information using standard and custom list views provided below the Title in a page. In addition, this page lets you copy, and delete, edit the leads information. In the Next Step section of the Lead page, you can add commission plan or transaction or customer details. This page also lets you to go to the previous page and Home page. In the Related Information section, you can view the information related to the Lead page.

You can click Master Data ? Lead menu item to display the "Lead" page. This page will list all the Lead Name, City, Country, Phone, Links to Edit, Copy, Delete option.

Lead Fields

Here is a description of the Lead standard fields. Some of these fields may not be   editable depending on your page layout.

Field

Description

Company

Name of the Company with which Lead is affiliated to. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Lead Name

Full Name of the Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Address1

Street Address for the Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Address2

Additional Street Address (Avenue or Suite) for the Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

City

City portion of the Lead's address. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

State-Province

State or province portion of the Lead's address. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Postal Code

Zip or postal code portion of the Lead's address. Up to 255 Characters are allowed in this field.

Country

Country portion of the Lead's address. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

First Name

First name of the Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Last Name

 

Last name of the Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Middle Initial

Middle Initial of the Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Salutation

 

Title for addressing the Lead, for example, Mr., Ms., Dr., or Mrs.

Title

 

Position of lead within his or her company. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Fax

Fax Number of Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field

Phone

Phone Number of Lead.  Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Mobile Phone

 

Lead's Cellular or mobile phone number. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Email ID

Email address of Lead. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field. Must be a valid email address in the form: randy@cellarstone.com.

URL

URL of Lead's website, for example, www.acme.com. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Employees

Number of employees at the Lead's company.

Rating

Indicates value or prospect of the lead, for example, Hot, Warm, Cold.

Product

Name of the product for which the lead's company is interested.

Campaign

Name of the person who is responsible for generating the lead.

Referred By

Name of the person who referred the lead.

Lead Source

Source of the Lead. For example, Agency, Direct, Distributor, etc.

Industry

Primary business of Lead's company or type of industry under which the Lead falls. For example, Banking, Insurance.

Stage

Current stage of the lead. For example, Contact, Lost, Needs Analysis, Negotiation, Qualification, Quote, Won, etc.

Comments

Comments on Customer. Up to 255 characters are allowed in this field.

Rep1

Primary sales rep dealing with customer. E.g. Randy.

Rep2

Assitional sales rep dealing with customer. E.g. Brandy.

Rep3

Assitional sales rep dealing with customer. E.g. Smith.

Credit Percent1

Percentage of amount to credited for Rep1.

Credit Percent2

Percentage of amount to credited for Rep2.

Credit Percent3

Percentage of amount to credited for Rep3.

This action will convert this lead to Customer and Opportunity.

Owner

Owner of the record. Typically owner will be any of the user id. E.g.cellar@cellarstone.com. By default, Owner will have access to this record.

 Adding a New Lead

The user can create new lead details such as Company, Lead Name, address Information, etc. For example, to add new lead "Craig White" details,  follow the steps given below:

  1. Click Master Data menu ? Lead submenu item. The "Lead" list page opens.

  1. Click on Add New button to create a new Lead. The "Lead- Add" detail page opens.

  1. Type the name of the company where Lead is working in the Company text box. For example, type the company as "Sample Pioneer sols".
  2. Type the full name of the lead in the Lead Name text box. For example, type the lead name as "Sample James Mitchel".
  3. Type the street or avenue address in the Address1 text box. For example, type the address1 as "4770 New Ironsides".
  4. Type the suite address in the Address2 text box. For example, type the address2 as "South Suite".
  5. Type the name of the city where lead's address is located in the City text box. For example, type the city name as "Santa Clara".
  6. Type the name of the state or province where the city of the lead is situated in the State/Province text box. For example, type the state or province as "CA".
  7. Type the zip code of the city in the Postal Code text box.  For example, type the postal code as "94045".
  8. Select the lead's country name from the Country drop-down. You can add new, edit or view the country details in the country codes page by clicking the viewv  icon. For example, select the country as "United States of America".
  9. Type the first name of the lead in the First Name text box. For example, type the first name as "James".
  10. Type the last name of the lead in the Last Name text box. For example, type the last name as "Mitchel".
  11. Type the initial of the lead in the Mid Initial text box. For example, type the initial as "M".
  12. Select the title from the Salutation drop-down. For example, select the title as "Mr."
  13. Type the title of the job within the company in the Title text box. For example, type the title as "VP".
  14. Type the fax number used for communication in the Fax text box. For example, type the fax number as "(214) 555-7500".
  15. Type the phone number used for communication in the Phone text box. For example, type the phone number as "(626)326-754".
  16. Type the mobile number used for communication in the Mobile text box.
  17. Type the lead's email address used for communication in the Email text box.  For example, type the email address as "cellar@cellarstone.com".
  18. Type the company's web address in the URL text box. For example, type the URL as "www.Easy-Commission.com".
  19. Type the number of employees at the lead's company in the Employee text box. For example, type the number as "250".
  20. Select the value of the lead, which are set by an administrator from the Rating drop-down. The values are Hot, Cold, New, and Warm. For example, select the value as "New".
  21. Type the name of the product for which the lead's company is interested in the Product text box. For example, type the product as "Bolts".
  22. Type the name of the person who is responsible for generating the lead in the Campaign text box. For example, type the name as" SA Campaign".
  23. Type the name of the person who referred the lead in the Referred By text box. For example, type the name as "ACME".
  24. Select the source of the lead from the Lead Source drop-down. The lead sources are Agency, Direct, Distributor, OEM, Online, Phone, Referral, and Reseller. For example, select the lead source as "Online".
  25. Type the industry type under which the lead's company falls in the Industry text box. You can add new, edit or view the industry details in the Industry page by clicking the view  icon. For example, type the industry type as "Accommodation and Food Services".
  26. Select the current stage of the lead from the Stage drop-down. The stages are Contact, Lost, Need Analysis, Negotiation, Qualification, Quote, and Won.  For example, select the stage as " Contact"
  27. Type the comments for the lead in the Comment text area.
  28. Select the Primary sales rep associated with the customer from the Rep1 lookup. E.g. Sample Brandy.
  29. Select the additional sales rep associated with the customer from the Rep2 lookup. E.g. Sample Randy.
  30. Select the additional sales rep associated with the customer from the Rep3 lookup. E.g. Sample Smith.
  31. Type the percentage of amount to credited for Rep1 in the Credit Percent1 text box.
  32. Type the percentage of amount to credited for Rep2 in the Credit Percent2 text box.
  33. Type the percentage of amount to credited for Rep1 in the Credit Percent3 text box.
  34. Select the Owner of the record. Typically owner will be any of the user ids. E.g. cellar@cellarstone.com. By default, Owner will have access to this record.
  35. Click Save to save the added lead details or click Save & Next to save and create new lead details.
  • To update a lead details, click Edit  icon, and then change the fields you want to update.
  • To copy the lead details from an existing data to create new lead details, click Copy  icon provided on the "Lead" list page.
  • To delete lead details permanently from the database, click Delete  icon provided on the "Lead" list page.
  • To view the particular lead details in readable mode, click on the required Lead Name link. You can also copy, delete and edit the readable mode by clicking the respective buttons provided on the top right of the "Lead - view" page.
  • To sort the column alphabetically/ascending order, click on the required column header and click the column heading a second time, to reverse the sort order.
  • To set commission plan based on the lead, click Set commission plan link provided in the Next Step section.
  • To enter the customer details, click Manage Customer details link provided in the Next Step section.
  • To enter transaction manually, click Enter transactions link provided in the Next Step section.
  • To view the information related to the lead page, click on the required link provided in the Related Information section.
